Permanent make up by Mayling
Permanent Make-up is a non-surgical long lasting, smudge free, cosmetic make-up system, that is carried out by a highly skilled technician. The process involves the use of precision equipment that carefully deposits small amounts of a natural hypoallergenic pigmentation into the dermal layer of the skin using a special technique originally developed for medical and then for beauty purposes. With this treatment it enables me to implant individual hair strokes to give you a more natural looking brow, every design I create is bespoke to each individual client, wether your brows have thinned with age, are fair or you just want to improve the shape and look, you will be sure to receive the brows you have longed for.
The first part of the process is a consultation. This is normally done as part of your initial treatment, but can be done separately if you prefer. I will talk with you in great detail about the look you are trying to achieve and what i might recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. Once I have an idea of the look you are aiming for, I draw the brows on with a makeup pencil to outline the template. I will not begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with the shape. I gently apply pigment to the skin using very fine needles. The sensation is that of an electric toothbrush being held against your skin – you feel the vibrations but you should not feel any discomfort. The process normally takes about 2 hours for the first treatment, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements. Immediately after a brow treatment you should expect the area to look 20-30% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation. This will start to fade after 3-4 days.
THE RETOUCH second appointment is needed 4-12 weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 1 hour to 1.5 hour appointment to add more pigment to the brow area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently.
